4th – 8th October 2010
Every October we encourage anyone who looks after young children to think about fire safety, within the environment they live and learn, by taking part in National Schools’ Fire Safety Week.
The Week is designed to provide teachers, parents, carers and guardians with the tools they need to educate children in their care about fire safety, and focuses on a different topic each year. This year the topic is ‘Matches & Lighters: Tools not Toys’.
The Campaign is primarily aimed at children between the ages of 5 and 7 (Key Stage 1), however you will find plenty of resources on other fire safety topics designed for a variety of age groups.
On this site you will find all that you need to educate children about dangers of fire. Whether you are a teacher, or a parent/carer, you will find all the supporting material you need to aid your fire safety activities. By educating children at a young age, children will learn valuable fire safety lessons which one day may save their lives.
